Brand Scaling is an ecommerce CRO agency for Shopify brands whose traffic mostly comes from paid social. When you pay for every click, conversion rate and order value decide how much you can afford to spend on ads. A store that converts at 3% instead of 2% can pay half as much again per click and keep the same margin.
Our CRO work is built around the ads. We look at which angle a visitor saw on Meta or TikTok, then make sure the page they land on continues that story, loads fast on a phone and makes the offer obvious. For store builds and rebuilds, see our Shopify growth work at /shopify-agency. This page is about the ongoing testing and optimisation programme.
An ecommerce CRO agency finds why visitors leave without buying and fixes it. That means research into customer behaviour, faster mobile pages, clearer product pages, stronger offers and bundles, a smoother checkout, structured A/B tests and post-purchase upsells. The result you want is more revenue per visitor, so every ad dollar goes further.
Most CRO goes wrong because it starts with opinions. We start with evidence. In the first two weeks we collect what is really happening on the store, then rank problems by how much revenue they are likely to cost.
Paid social traffic is almost all mobile and very impatient. We remove unused apps, compress media, defer scripts that block the first view and simplify the theme where it is heavy. Speed work is often the cheapest conversion gain available.
On the product page, we focus on the first screen. The visitor should see the product, what it does, the price and the offer, and the add to cart button without scrolling. Below that, we order the content by the objections we found in research: proof, how it works, ingredients or materials, sizing, shipping and returns. UGC clips and before and after images from the ads often belong on the page too.
Conversion rate is only half of revenue per visitor. The other half is average order value. We test quantity breaks, bundles of complementary products, free shipping thresholds set just above your current AOV, and gift-with-purchase offers. Each offer is checked against contribution margin first so a higher AOV does not come from giving profit away.
Post-purchase upsells shown after payment and before the thank-you page are one of the most reliable AOV gains on Shopify, because they add revenue without adding friction to the first purchase. We set them up with products that pair naturally with what was just bought.
A visitor who clicked an ad about sensitive skin should not land on a generic product page that opens with a lifestyle photo and a paragraph about the brand. The page should pick up the exact promise the ad made. This message match is where paid traffic CRO differs most from general store design.
We map each winning ad angle to a landing experience. Sometimes that is the product page with a different first screen, sometimes a dedicated landing page or advertorial for colder audiences, and sometimes a bundle page for an offer-led ad. Because our creative team ships new angles every week, landing pages are updated on the same rhythm, not once a year.
We judge these pages on revenue per visitor from the ad that feeds them, not on site-wide averages. A page can lift conversion for one angle and do nothing for another, so the read has to be specific to the traffic source.
Shopify checkout is already well built, so the wins here are usually about removing doubt: clear shipping costs and delivery times before checkout, express payment options visible, trust signals near the button, and a cart drawer that does not push people back into browsing.
For testing, we run one clear hypothesis at a time on high-traffic pages, with a stated metric and a minimum sample before calling a result. Lower-traffic stores test bigger changes, since small tweaks need far more visitors to read. Every test, win or lose, goes into a log so learning compounds instead of being repeated.
For brands that need dedicated funnels or advertorial landing pages for cold traffic, we build those too, using the frameworks from our sister site https://www.funnelsthatprint.com.
CRO pays back fastest for brands with steady traffic, typically doing about $20K to $2M+ a month and spending at least $10K to $20K a month on ads. Below that, there is not enough traffic to read tests and the money is better spent on offer and creative.
CRO agencies usually charge a monthly retainer, a fixed project fee for an audit and rebuild, a performance fee tied to conversion or revenue lift, or a mix. We quote after a Brand Growth Audit, where Gaurav reviews your store, ads and unit economics with you. You can check your current numbers with our conversion rate calculator at /tools/conversion-rate-calculator before the call.
It depends on traffic source, price point and category, so compare against your own past numbers first. Paid social traffic usually converts lower than email or branded search. One clinical skincare store we work with reached a 5.25% conversion rate in a $61,000 month, but a high-ticket store can be healthy well below that.
Speed fixes and clear product page changes can show up within the first few weeks. A/B tests take longer because each one needs enough visitors and orders to read. Most stores should expect a steady programme over several months, with gains compounding as test learnings stack up.
You need enough orders per variant to trust the result. Lower-traffic stores should test bigger changes, like a new offer or a rebuilt first screen, instead of button colours. If traffic is too low for testing, research-led fixes and before-and-after comparisons are still useful while ad volume grows.
They work together. CRO raises revenue per visitor, which lets you pay more per click and still profit, so ads can scale further. More ads with a weak store just buys more visitors who leave. We usually fix the biggest store leaks first, then increase spend once the page can hold it.
A post-purchase upsell is an offer shown after the customer has paid but before the thank-you page, which they can add with one click without re-entering payment details. Because the first order is already complete, it adds order value without risking the original sale. It works best with products that pair with the first purchase.
Yes. Most CRO work happens on the existing theme: speed clean-up, product page changes, offers, cart and checkout improvements and testing. A rebuild only makes sense when the theme is so slow or rigid that it blocks the changes. We tell you which applies after the audit.
